Surface Heating And Cooling
The system, similar to floor heating system, has been used for both heating and cooling of outdoor surfaces for quite a long time.
The surface heating systems applied mainly on sidewalks and roads, sport grounds, aircraft hangars, storage facilities, large shopping facilities, passages to/out the underground parkings.
The surface cooling systems are used in skating rinks.
The surface heating systems allow to keep clean the city streets, snow immediately melts on the warm surface (temperature as low as +3ºC), so mud, slush and snowdrifts can be forgotten about. The economy on the road-cleaning personnel and equipment is an additional benefit.
The surface heating systems installed in football fields make the all-year-round training and playing possible.
As a rule, the heat-carrying agent is the ethylene glycol solution in the heating systems and the refrigerant in the cooling systems.
The system consists of the heat point (surface heating) or the refrigerator (surface cooling, skating rinks) with a thermal control unit and a circulation pump, manifolds and under-surface pipes connected to manifolds.
The mandatory condition for the normal operation of an outdoor surface heating or cooling system is the effective surface drainage.
The surface heating or cooling systems are very easy to operate. After the system is installed, checked up and launched, no special servicing or maintenance is required.
